Composting

Hello all, it's starting to become the busy season for us here at Mayfield Gardens.

Warmer days will be here soon and the crocus and tulips are starting to emerge from their slumber and peaking through the mulch. Just as fast as they emerge they also die. So what are you going to with the remains? Throw them in the trash and forget about them or make them the first ingredients to add to the compost pile?

It's time for us to start thinking green and save some money by composting yard waste. Let's help out the landfills. Yardwaste make up 20% of waste in landfills. These landfills are starting to fill up and will soon have to be capped. One way to lessen the amount of waste is to compost.

You can also save $ by composting yourself. Instead of going to your local gardner supply store for fertilizer you can go right into your back yard and pick some up.

Happy Composting
